Alamo Real Estate

Alamo real estate has proven to be one of the best investments in the San Francisco East Bay. This is the premier web site for buyers and sellers of residential Alamo real estate. Here you can search the MLS, sign up for free Listing Alerts and learn about our communities and award winning schools.
Alamo Real Estate Costs
Alamo homes are as varied as Condominiums and Castles. Entry level homes start around $500,000 for condominiums, $750,000 for single family homes. There is lots of choice in the over $1 million price range.
Alamo is a well-established family oriented community situated in East Contra Costa County in the center of the San Ramon Valley just south of Walnut Creek. Residents typically commute to San Francisco and San Jose (and beyond) as well as to many other cities in the East Bay such as Walnut Creek and Concord. The San Ramon Valley runs North-South from Martinez to San Ramon along highway 680 and the largest community here is Walnut Creek, which is situated by the junction with Highway 24, approximately mid-way down the valley. To put Alamo real estate prices into perspective, homes here cost rather less than Diablo but are certainly higher than the communities anywhere else in the valley.
Alamo Real Estate History
The main thoroughfare of Alamo is Danville Boulevard which runs North-South parallel with Highway 680. The older part of Alamo is on the West side. Here can be found some of the most expensive single family homes in the area, including many country estate properties. Many have been improved and remodeled to an exceptionally high standard. This area is highly sought after.
The East side of Alamo also has well established home developments including the popular Roundhill Country Club area. But also on the East side are areas of more recent the home construction. Main access roads are Stone Valley Road, Livorna Road and Rudgear, which runs along the Walnut Creek border.
Real estate prices here are driven by a number of factors. Primarily though, the popularity of the area with families is explained by the high standard of schools at all levels. This really is a desirable place to live with low crime and a high level of social awareness. Overall, a great place to raise your family.
